Palestinians pushed to the brink

Since 7 October, more than 68,608 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza, including over 7,729 children, as well as health workers, journalists, and more than 100 UN staff. Entire towns have been flattened, reduced to grey rubble, burying thousands under the ruins of their homes.

According to Human Appeal’s team in Gaza, there is officially no safe place left in the entire Gaza Strip.

This, amid spiraling hunger that threatens to trigger another humanitarian crisis. The UN says that half of Gaza is now starving as 90% of people in the north and 66% of people in the south are unable to eat daily.

Human Appeal has launched a mobile clinic at a school in Rafah, providing essential healthcare to sick, and injured displaced families. We’re also installing waterproof and fire-resistant tents in 29 schools across the south.

£35 pm/£420 pa -Sponsor a Palestinian child – right now 1,500 children are registered with us awaiting a sponsor.

£38 – Provide a hygiene kit to a family containing toothbrushes, face masks, soaps, disinfectant, tissues, and other hygiene items.

£44 - provide 8 tanks of 16 litres of water to families in Gaza.

£50 – Help us to provide treatment at our mobile clinic in Rafah.

£56 – Provide a nutritious food parcel to a family-of-ten for a month.

£70 - Provide 35 litres of fuel to a hospital and ambulances.

£900 – Provide a family with a 3x3 metre waterproof and fire-resistant tent.

Over 50,594 people have been wounded, and 7,780 are still missing and suspected to be dead and under the rubble – half of them are children. 26 hospitals and 49 clinics, including Al Shifa and Al-Quds hospitals have closed. Premature babies had to be removed from their incubators, and life support has turned off for critically ill patients. There are no more services for cancer patients, and the last hospitals still working in the south are full beyond capacity.

Each day, doctors are tirelessly saving numerous lives under challenging circumstances – performing c-sections without anaesthesia, using vinegar from the local shop to clean wounds, and forced to amputate children’s limbs that could be saved with proper supplies.

Humanitarian crisis unfolding: Devastation in Gaza

We are urgently concerned about food and hygiene supplies in Gaza. With most people struggling to eat every day and concerning signs of epidemic diseases, we urge more aid to be permitted into Gaza. The UN has warned that bloody diarrhoea and jaundice, as well as high levels of infections are a worrying signal of an epidemic.

A complete siege has cut off all food, water, fuel and electricity from 2.3 million people. Before this escalation, families faced extreme difficulty in accessing enough food and water – 97% of water here is too contaminated to drink.

Scale of destruction

Now, terrifying scenes show utter destruction of cities razed to the ground, highways strewn with rubble and bodies, and of generations of families carrying what they can as they flee to southern Gaza.

Hospitals, mosques, water sources and residential buildings are being struck without warning, wiping out entire neighbourhoods. Those who escape have sought shelter in schools and hospitals, but these have also been targeted by bombs.

Your help so far

We’ve been in Gaza for over 30 years. Our local team has been providing daily distributions since the start of the bombing in Gaza, providing food, hygiene kits, clean water, medical supplies, and, now, waterproof tents.

So far, you’ve helped us to support over 340,000 people. Our waterproof and fire-resistant tents have been installed in 29 schools across the south of Gaza, and our water desalination plant is currently operating for six-to-seven hours a day, providing 57,000 litres of clean water each hour.

Palestinian families who have fled their homes without food or belongings urgently need food, hygiene items and shelter.

Injured patients who are in the few remaining hospitals urgently need your support to keep generators working.

Paramedics struggling to get fuel in order to reach the injured need your support now.

Every minute, and every single penny counts.

Human Appeal has been providing humanitarian aid to Palestine for 32 years. Help us continue this vital life-saving work.
